Montisola
The comunity of Monte Isola, called as well Montisola, covers the island in Lake Iseo.
This is the biggest island within a lake in Italy and the island on highest altitude in Europe. Easily accessable with ferries from the ports of Sulzano and Sale Marasino (both located at the eastern side of the lake)
The island is covered by ancient forests and many olive trees. During the times of roman settlement many roman palasts were errected which today can be visited.
Montisola is of huge touristic interest because of the extraordinary scenic location and because of it's wide dimensions. The visitor find a brought net of bikelanes in all levels of difficulties, from a challanging slope to the pike of the mountain to an enjoyable circle ride around the island.
