Lakes and Rivers

Apart from the wellknown Lake Iseo (a lake with extraordinary size in the very south of the Valcamonica valley) there are numerous other lakes like Lake Arno or Lake Moro and numerous small artificial lakes used as reservoir for rain water.

All these reservoirs have been created by many rivers starting in the Adamello mountains, just like Oglio, the fivth biggest river in Italy. It's source is in Ponte di Legno, it crosses the Valcamonica valley and ends in Lake Iseo.

The inhabitants of this region love their waters and practise a respectful tourism which keeps up a good water quality of lakes and rivers.
